All 2,493 items targeted by China’s tariffs in US trade war — Quartz

China’s latest tariff retaliation, announced today, will hit some $60 billion in US exports, including hundreds of agricultural, mining, and manufactured products, threatening jobs and profits at companies around the United States.  Before the trade war starts in earnest, China bought about 17% of US agricultural exports and was a major market for other goods, from Maine lobster to Boeing aircraft. It has been the largest market for Apple iPhones since 2016. Since the escalation of tariffs, though, China has stopped buying soybeans and lobsters, and Apple warned it would miss its expected Christmas holiday sales figures because of trade tensions. In addition to the 25% tariffs below, Beijing also added 20% tariffs on 1,078 US products, 10% tariffs on 974 US products, and 5% tariffs on 595 US products (all links in Chinese). The list was translated from China’s ministry of finance press release using Google translate, and may be inexact in spots. Quartz also rearranged some items on the list to group them into categories, and they may not be in the order of their “harmonized tariff schedule” codes.  Aluminum Foil, Packaging Foil, Household Aluminum Foil – Haoxin,https://ww...

This year’s Coverings, which primarily targets distributors, offered attendees the opportunity to see tile trends and innovations as well as attend education sessions that focused on topics like tariffs, e-commerce and technology in brick-and-mortar retail. Saniflo launches Kinedo Kinespace shower enclosures

The new Kinedo Kinepsace range of elegant and discrete shower cubicles from Saniflo UK is designed to make fitting shower enclosures swift and easy, while delivering a high-quality product with a 10-year warranty. Available in four sizes, chrome profiles feature across the range with some versions also available in statement black or ‘on trend’ copper. Numerous configurations are possible including quadrant, recessed and corner options with pivot or sliding doors whilst fixed panels enable customisation for extra flexibility. At two metres high with 6mm or 8mm glass, some Kinespace enclosures feature an optional central frosted panel on the glass. Cleaning and maintenance is also simple, thanks to the anti-limescale treated glass and the hinge, which creates a gap between the glass and the door opening, helps to ensure the Kinespace looks and stays pristine for longer. The hinge fitting also creates more space for a wider entry into the enclosure. Installation is both quick and easy thanks to the Kineclip. A really useful feature, the Kineclip holds the shower door in place enabling the installer to use both hands to screw the rest of the unit together. Assembly and adjustment o...

Best events in Minneapolis & St. Paul: ‘RoboCop,’ Mallman and McInerny books, more!

For years, Trash Film Debauchery has been screening terrible B-movies, low-budget schlock, and failed blockbusters that time forgot. This spring, the crew is moving into new territory, bringing us amateur remakes of classic flicks. The epic trilogy kicks off with Our RoboCop Remake, a majestic collaboration wherein 55 directors each created their own scene and they all add up to an entire movie. There will be charmingly bad line readings and and amazing shoestring special effects. Harcore punk band MURF will also be on hand to debut a new music video and share the trailer they made for this Frankenmovie. Upcoming screenings in this series include a remake of Raiders of the Lost Ark, created over six years by a group of friends who started the project when they were 12, and The Empire Strikes Back Uncut, a fan-made shot-for-shot work that features live-action sequences, stop-start animation, and cardboard cutouts. 7 p.m. $5. 2820 E. 33rd St., Minneapolis; 612-424-5468. —Jessica Armbruster The townsfolk of Beldenville, Maine don’t believe the local legend of a troll who lives in an old train tunnel. Armed with a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and working with the Wyoming

Armed with a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and working with the Wyoming Valley Art League, Pande, of Shavertown, is looking forward to being able to give free lessons in Indian folk art to about 25 students in grades six through 12. The Indian Art Workshop will be taught in the Wyoming Valley Art League’s Circle Centre for the Arts, rear 130 South Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, from the end of June through August, with Pande donating her time and the grant supplying the funding for art materials. If anyone wants to see examples of Indian folk art, pieces that Pande created will be on exhibit from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 31 on the first floor of Wilkes-Barre City Hall, corner of East Market and Washington streets, Wilkes-Barre. “That exhibition will give students some idea about what to expect,” said Pande, whose work has previously been exhibited at Mainstreet Galleries in Kingston and at the Wyoming Art League. The lessons will cover various styles of folk art including Madhubani, Pichwai, Rajasthani and Bani Thani, and will give each student a chance to work on individual paintings as well as group projects. At the end of the summer, Pande plans to have an exhibit...

Eriez P-Rex rare earth scrap drums provide 50 percent greater recovery of ferrous from bottom ash for Covanta

Engineers at Covanta, one of the world’s largest owners and operators of facilities dedicated to recovering energy from waste, reported an immediate 50 percent improvement in recovery of ferrous materials from bottom ash after upgrading a conventional scrap drum to an Eriez P-Rex®(Permanent Rare Earth Xtreme®) Scrap Drum at one of the company’s United States facilities.  According to Eriez, Covanta management has now upgraded a total of six older scrap drums at various Covanta locations to P-Rex Scrap Drums based on exceptional results of two initial installations. Eriez Metals Recycling Market Manager Mike Shattuck says that the innovative design of the P-Rex Scrap Drum gives it a variety of advantages over traditional scrap drums, leading to greater recovery results for Covanta and many other customers.  He explains, “P-Rex’s magnetic force remains consistently strong across the width of the drum. With standard magnets, the force in the middle is greater which can lead to ferrous materials located at the sides of the conveyor not getting picked up.” In addition to P-Rex’s greater recovery, Covanta has also been impressed with how this advan...

ASUS have added a 650 Watt and 750 Watt unit to their latest Republic Of Gamers

ASUS have added a 650 Watt and 750 Watt unit to their latest Republic Of Gamers range of power supplies. These 80 Plus Gold Certified units target the discerning enthusiast audience and today we are analysing the 750 watt model. Asus sent us this review sample from one of their own system builds, samples seem very limited right now in the UK. We would imagine their OEM partner is Seasonic again, after our earlier review of the THOR power supply back in 2018. We will look at this in detail later in the review.
